Antique Spanish, Spain, circa 1920 - Though woven in Spain, a classic Ninghsia Chinese design appears on this charming little antique rug. An openwork vinescroll medallion and cornerpieces float across a soft gold ground, surrounded by a border of vine sprays like those of the field, but set against a pale apricot ground. The piece has a considerable visual unity, making it a very effective decorative rug.
