Antique Scandinavian Rugs -- Antique Swedish Art Deco carpet, 1930's This lovely Swedish deco rug has a a stunning stepped geometry on a burnt orange ground set against a warm ivory-tan border. While thoroughly modern in its taste and impact, it nonetheless recalls the geometric traditions of the best Chinese, Tibetan, and Turkish rugs as well, although in an autumnal palette that is distinctly Scandinavian. The lustrous wool shows off the simplicity color and form to great effect.
