Large arabesque-like medallions with floral sprays or space-fillers dominate the deep cinnamon field, enclosed by palmette borders. Still, the relative spareness of the composition, the geometric drawing, and the reserved cool palette distinguish this as a Khotan piece, as does the lustrous soft wool of the pile.
