Moroccan Rug, Morocco, Mid 20th Century - Oily yellow and sky blue spots sit atop a peppery ocean of navy and periwinkle spots. A tapered edge design incorporates a scheme of sky blue, yellow, and tan checks. The ocean in the middle of the rug seems to overwhelm the constraints of the design, washing and overtaking the outer regions of the rug. The top of the design resembles an bloodless shore where seed-like blots of ink dominate the land.
