Omri Schwartz Reveals The Beauty of Antique Carpets to New School Interior Design Class
New School Interior Design Class Visits Nazmiyal Antique Rugs:
Education is a big part of what we do here at Nazmiyal, so naturally we were happy when a New School interior design Class inquired about bringing their students to our NYC rug gallery. I honestly did not know what to expect, would they be interested or would they stare blankly into space, counting the seconds till they could leave.

But what started out as a lecture quickly turned into a fascinating question and answers discussion and the participants were eager to absorb as much information as they could.

We began by talking about antique carpets and the interior design trade. We touched-upon what designers like, what colors and patterns they look for and what makes one rug more desirable and why. We unrolled different rug types and styles, talked about the history, patterns, price points and so much more.

I was so happily surprised by the level of interaction. These bright young minds seemed to have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and asked so many questions. They seemed to be genuinely fascinated by every single aspect of the antique carpet world. the time flew by and before we knew it, two hours went by and it was time for me to get back to work. Otherwise, I feel that they could have been here for another two hours easy!

I just want to say that the level of interest blew me away. These future interior design trend setters are on the right track. Filled with passion and a genuine fascination, it will be exciting to see how the future interior design leaders will fare in the real world. For all you current interior designers that we know and that follow our company, I would like to say – Keep an eye on these kids, they are going places!
I would like to give a special thank you to Annie Evelyn for bringing her interior design class at the New School and introducing them to the wonderful world of antique carpets!
