Antique Tabriz Rug, Persia, Late 19th Century - A trellis design of flowers and large rosettes in reds, pale blue, and rose envelopes a small central medallion and cornerpieces, all set against a pale aubergine ground on this lovely little antique Tabriz. The relatively large rosettes and the small size of the medallion, however, create the impression of an allover design. Fine vinescroll borders provide a contrast to the scale of field design, while preserving its coloration.
