Vintage Verner Panton Textile, Country Of Origin: Denmark, Circa Date: Mid 20th Century — Composed of nine gradient circles arranged symmetrically against a background of medium blue, this textile shows the influence of Op art on esteemed Dutch designer Verner Panton’s minimalist and modern aesthetic. Each circle seems to protrude or recede in space due to the concentric gradient rings, ranging in color from a rich indigo to a light cornflower blue. This blue hue seems to evoke a spiritual or meditative calm, while the almost vibration-like quality of the gradient circles lends the design a dynamic energy.
