A majestic design of spiraling vines and palmettes sprawls grandly across the deep blue field of this sumptuous antique Oriental Khorassan carpet from Persia. The main spiraling vines, jewel-like in appearance, emanate in vertical columns from a vase at the base of the composition. A much more finely scaled and proportioned vinescroll border frames the field, nicely balancing to its richness and monumentality.
