Vintage Scandinavian Verner Panton “Gradient” Textile, Country Of Origin: Scandinavia, Circa Date: Mid 20th Century – The selvage of the fabric contains information about textile and contains Verner Panton’s signature, which makes it a rare find. This piece is called “Gradient” and was created for his famous 1969 Décor I collection.

Panton’s work often used scale and color to create a sensory experience within the space. This was the case, whether it involved a full-scale Panton exhibit or pieces for the home. Retro and retro-inspired designs are a trend that is being featured in many popular interior design magazines, both online and off. This piece is an essential for a midcentury collection.

The years 1969 and 1970 were the years when Panton created some of his more iconic pieces for home interiors. The textiles were created to be a part of a set that was made to evoke a certain feeling within the space. This textile pairs perfectly with the Panton’s famous injection-molded plastic S chair or a set of flowerpot pendant lights.
