Almost nothing has been put on this field. A pale diamond near the top, a speckled dark one at the middle, two faint shapes below it and three small ivory animals along the bottom edge — that is the entire inventory, spread across a camel ground with a broad brown band running through the upper third.
What fills the space instead is the fleece. The wool shifts constantly between honey, taupe and grey-brown, none of it dyed, and the few marks sit in it like objects on a table rather than pattern on a ground. The sides are finished with plain vertical stripes in brown and cream — no motif in the border at all.
At 3 ft 1 in by 5 ft 6 in it reads long and calm, and the earth tones keep it neutral against almost any wall. Price is available on request, and the same undyed palette can be woven wider as a custom rug.
