Vintage Swedish area rug, Sweden, Mid 20th Century — This vintage Scandinavian carpet’s minimalist presence allows it to maintain a versatile air of serenity and comfort. A single, creamy beige hue defines the background, with the only elements of activity present in a boxy, circular formation of tulips. The bulbs of the flowers point inward, mirroring each other in a symmetrical arrangement. Sage green stems extend away from the bulbs, with two pairs of angular leaves adding movement to each flower. The tulips are painted unique hues, with all types of colors present in every bulb, including violets, browns, blues, reds and yellows, creating variety throughout the shape.
