Striking Tribal Vintage Persian Gabbeh Geometric Rug, Country of Origin: Persia, Circa Date: Vintage
Stepped medallions in chocolate brown run up the centre, each filled with a checkerboard of ivory, red and slate blue. Around them the field burns orange. Narrow side borders, slate against dark ground, carry rows of small hooked lozenges in ivory and red.
The contrast is deliberate and unsubtle: orange set hard against near-black, with the checkered fill cutting through both. This is tribal rug drawing at full volume — a piece that sets the temperature of a room rather than sitting quietly beneath it. The serrated edges of each medallion are stepped knot by knot, never curved.
The rug runs 4 ft by 5 ft 11 in, small enough to layer over a larger floor covering or to hold a reading chair on its own; the rug size guide sets out both options. Price is available on request, and this palette can be taken up at room scale as a custom rug.
