Vintage Moroccan Carpet, Origin: Morocco, Circa: Mid-20th Century – Here is a beautifully woven and captivating vintage carpet – a mid-century Moroccan rug, woven with a fetching tribal style. A tremendously varied range of colors appears throughout the carpet, with reds, yellow, blues, greys, and greens creating volumes of energy. Generally these colors present themselves in the form of horizontal bands – almost appearing as a series of complex stripes. Across the width of each of these horizontal bands of color runs an unpredictable pattern, with yellows sometimes followed by blues, sometimes by reds, and other times by greens. The overall effect of this irregularity is an impression of abstraction, and this vintage tribal rug does indeed articulate some of the finer points of abstract aesthetics. An exciting authentic mid-century Moroccan rug characterized by a colorful tribal design, this carpet is a truly dynamic example.
