Lovely Geometric Mid-Century Modern Swedish-Style Kilim Rug, Country of Origin: Central Asia, Circa Date: Modern
Narrow vertical panels in olive, khaki and sage run the full height of the rug, each one packed with stacked rows of small ivory lozenges. Points of burgundy and navy appear inside the lozenges at intervals. A cream border ticked with short colored dashes closes the field on all four sides.
The effect is dense and deliberately textile-like — less a picture than a woven sample enlarged to room scale. That systematic, drafted quality is characteristic of Scandinavian rug design, and the kilim structure, woven in Central Asia, is what allows the pattern to stay this fine.
It measures 10 ft by 10 ft 7 in, near enough to square to anchor a compact sitting room or a landing without a dominant axis; our rug size guide covers how that proportion behaves. This piece is offered at price upon request — speak with a specialist for details.
