Beautiful Antique Persian Malayer Rug 50711 Country of Origin / Rug Type: Persian Rug, Circa Date: 1920 – Striking geometric patterning displayed in perfect symmetry graces this antique Persian rug. Bold black borders, embellished with struts and jagged lines, defines a tri-fold centerpiece. A roughly hexagonal shape at the center of this antique rug, is, itself, decorated with four gray and brown ornaments, is flanked by two four-sided diamonds. Feathered edging encloses figures matching the ornaments in the center, the stylized geometry suggesting blossoms with rounded petals. A red field, studded with more floral symbols, backs the centerpiece, enclosed by a trio of borders rendered in red, tan and brown. Squared leaves and darts in harvest tones scroll around the beautiful and tribal antique Persian Malayer rug.
