This rich masculine background is covered by a fantastical allover arabesque that displays arching millefleur sprays and well-defined botanicals that have Safavid influences and strong lines with the rectilinear tendencies of the greater Hamadan province. These luxurious botanical decorations showcase hairline details and low-contrast earth tones, including ochre, sienna and canvas-like neutrals, which are offset beautifully by the umber ground.
