The squares are held inside a narrow central panel rather than running to the edges — seven columns of them, in coral, salmon, ivory, khaki, lilac, plum and orange, separated by dark brown lines. The panel does not stay true: it narrows, bulges and leans as it climbs, so the columns lean with it.
Around that unsteady centre the weaver built an unusually wide frame — an orange band with sawtooth edging, an ivory band, a blue-grey sawtooth, then cream. Nearly a third of the rug is border. Containing a geometric field this way is uncommon in tribal rug work, where the pattern usually runs edge to edge.
At 3 ft 9 in by 6 ft 8 in it is long and narrow, one of the small rugs and well suited to a corridor. Price is available on request, and the design can be woven at other dimensions as a custom rug.
