Antique Persian Kashan Rug, Country of Origin: Persia, Circa Date: Early 20th Century– This exquisite Kashan rug is typical of the fine rugs for which Kashan became famous in the 19th century. The color palette of deep blacks and reds gives the exquisite details depth, while the small diamond medallion accentuates the elegant flourishes in the field. The rich cerulean in the corners brings out elements elsewhere in the rug, particularly in the fine details around the border. Though the rug is relatively small in its dimensions, it is impactful, and thus works well even in larger areas.
