Beautiful Vintage Persian Gabbeh Rug with Geometric Allover Pattern, Country of Origin: Persia, Circa Date: Vintage
Two columns of stepped crosses climb the field side by side, eight to a column, linked stem to stem. They change colour as they rise — chocolate, cream, tan, near-black, brown again — with no repeat in the sequence. The camel ground behind them is cut with angled corners, so the field reads as a panel set into the rug.
Doubling the column is the decision that makes this piece. A single row would have been conventional; two of them turn the field into a rhythm, and the eye travels up one side and down the other. The border answers with a hard cream and dark brown domino check, the only strict repeat anywhere in the wool.
At 3 ft 6 in by 5 ft 3 in the earth tones are entirely undyed, which keeps it neutral in a room. Price is available on request, and the two-column layout can be repeated at any width as a custom rug.
