Beautiful Shag Vintage Swedish Rya Rug, Country of Origin: Sweden, Circa Date: Mid 20th Century – A thickly plush shag texture softens the angular designs on this Scandinavian rug. Cool blues, purples and greens in light and dark tones form the decorations, centered with a tilted white square filled with stylized fish. The colorful school swims to one side, surrounded by a quilt-like pattern of stylized nets and kelp, complete with oceanic wildlife such as starfish, urchins and jellyfish. Alongside the fish in the middle, a sailboat is rendered with its reflection on a clear ocean. The light shades comprising the center in this vintage Swedish Rya rug deepen outward to dark indigo hues along the edges.
