Beautiful Antique Tribal Persian Serab Runner Shabby Chic Rug, Country of Origin: Persia, Circa Date: Late 19th Century – The earthy orange center area of this antique Persian Serab, runner rug is filled with a black, white and red symmetrical design accented by touches of bright blue and pale yellow. Dark stitches detail the borders of red hexagons, spaced with geometric figures that cradle branching white decorations. The complex structures stretch like the questing of a tree’s roots or frost creeping through a forest on an autumn morning. Against the orange background, additional smaller figures in a variety of hues cluster around the dominant pattern, forming a stylized bouquet of flowers. A series of borders of varying widths surrounds the central field of this tribal antique shabby chic rug, each filled with a collection of tribal figures. The outermost border is an orange field sparsely dotted with stylized flowers.
