Gorgeous Cotton Background Antique Persian Tabriz Haji Jalili Rug, Country Of Origin: Persia, Circa date: 1920 – Haji Jalili is considered a masterweaver, and works from his famous shop are considered some of the most highly desirable in the world. Tabriz was once home to the famous carpet schools of the Safavid Dynasty in the 17th century. After the fall of the Dynasty, its beautiful carpets went into a period of decline, and the industry almost died. In the latter part of the 19th century, several master weavers, including Haji Jalili, decided to revive some of the traditional designs that made Persian rugs famous to give them new life.

The result of the efforts of Haji Jalili and others was a renaissance in the art of carpet weaving. They took many of the old designs and reworked them for contemporary tastes. For instance, they tended to use lighter colors, such as grays and pinks, but sometimes, they still used traditional colors. This gorgeous rug uses a traditional color scheme that features a blue and red background, much as you would find in the original Safavid Dynasty court rugs.

This piece has a shabby chic feel and has been well-loved through the ages. This gives it a softer tone and timeless feel. The design of this rug has a tribal feel that is primitive and mysterious. Haji Jalili’s workshops continued to produce masterpieces for several decades until World War I would put an end to this era. Pieces from his workshop are considered some of the most recognized and collectible in the world.

This gorgeous piece is small enough to fit in an average room, and its brilliant colors are perfect for modern style trends. Persian carpets are a classic that never goes out of style. They make an excellent choice for traditional or classic furniture where they add elegance and an air of sophistication to the space.

Modern spaces are often a mix of pieces from around the world and modern ones. It is no longer a rule that all of the pieces in the room must match. You can mix traditional with contemporary and do not need to be afraid to layer in a few contrasting colors. This piece has a well-traveled feel and helps to create a foundation for a space for entertaining, relaxing, productivity, or any other purpose.
