Richly detailed, this sophisticated antique embroidered textile from India showcases a graphic series of precise geometric motifs adorned with secondary patterns.

Antique Indian Embroidery, Country of Origin: India, Antique – This distinctive collection of antique Indian textiles depicts a rich assortment of intricately detailed geometric motifs rendered in a stately selection of mulberry reds and soft celadon green. Graphic rows of interconnected lozenges that are divided into tonal quadrants and bracketed by ornamental calyces create a formal repeating pattern that is adorned with a stunning variety of low-contrast herringbone details. The intricately patterned body is further adorned with a formal band of detailed quarter-square motifs that are decorated with a fantastic variety of small-scale inset lozenges that are rendered in a tonal mulberry-red color scheme. Intricate serrated outlines executed in crisp white hues create a charming appearance reminiscent of ikat textiles or resist-dyed batiks.
