Antique Khotan, East Turkestan, circa 1910'sOpenwork medallions in a staggered array make up the center of the field design on this courtly antique Khotan, A  smaller array of minor elements fills out the field to either end, enclosed by fretwork cornerpieces. A border of snowflake rosettes makes up the mail border, separated from the field by a minor  border of meander. The use of only two colors - cool cocoa and tan - allows the precision and balance of the design to occupy center stage.
