Antique Spanish Carpet -- Antique Carpet Fragment, Spain, possibly Letur, sixteenth to seventeenth century The carpet from which this lovely fragment once came consisted of a diamond vinescroll lattice in soft green enclosing large saffron and ivory floral rosettes, all set against a pale apricot ground. Despite the limited dimensions of the piece, one can still glimpse something of the animated drawing and lovely, delicate coloration that once gave this magnificent carpet it appeal.
