Silk Kashan Rug, Persia, Circa 1900 - The rug's reciprocating floral borders are set off by double guardbands and an oxidized cerulean blue ground. Split-leaf motifs and saz-leaf variations woven in oxidized blue and camel brown are used throughout the borders and field. This classic Kashan carpet features a bold triad of classic colors and expertly-crafted scrolling arabesques that provide a strong architectural presence.
