Bakshaish Rug, Persia, Late 19th Century - An allover pattern of stylized flower heads or miniature palmettes repeats in staggered array across the deep camel field of this charming little antique Bakshaish. A classic Northwest Persian vinescroll border enclosed the field, with an external camel open edge reminiscent of Serabs.
