Vintage Swedish Scandinavian Tapestry, Country of Origin: Sweden, Circa Date: Mid Century Modern – This vintage Scandinavian rug features a tree on an ivory field, the top half dominated by leaves sprouting in light and dark greens. Stitched half in tan and half in dark brown, the angular trunk is joined along a sharply zigzagged line through the center. The leaves sprout from twigs that branch off from the main body of the tree, pointed sharply to the left or right. Six brightly colored birds accompany the tree, two in bright berry bushes at the bottom of this textile art piece. The base of the tree is backed with dark green shade, which also creates hummocks for birds to sit upon to each side of this beautiful vintage rug.
