Vintage Swedish Scandinavian Rya Rug, Country of Origin: Sweden, Circa Date: Mid-20th Century – This fabulous vintage rug – a Rya rug– created in Scandinavia features layers of enigmatic patterns rendered in a limited spectrum of warm golden-brown colors that capture a gamut of values ranging from woolen brown and near black to radiant sunshine yellow. Dark and light hues arranged in gradated tiles create a series of radiant borders that frame the glowing central medallion. The radiant golden-brown color scheme is amplified with subtle transitions and gradient layers that are aided by geometric tiles, pyramidal shapes and interlocking triangles, which capture a complete selection of warm-tone colors. These intricate tiled patterns, dimensional triangles and contrasting layers are emphasized by the luxurious texture of the shaggy Rya pile as they revolve around the coffered central medallion.
