Vintage Scandinavian Tiger Rug by Artist Josef Frank, Country Of Origin: Scandinavia, Circa Date: Mid 20th Century – Shaped like a genuine fur animal pelt rug, and created by artist Josef Frank, this vintage rug creates the fanciful visage of a tiger. A comb of bright orange whiskers accents the animal’s chin, setting off its round green eyes. Brown stripes start along its head and move down the body, shifting to a dark black along the length before changing back to brown to indicate the tail. A column of oval shapes, created by negative space within the stripes and brown dots between, marks the creature’s backbone. Crimson stripes adorn each of the limbs, and pale blue marks the claws. A row of golden dots lines the right and left, creating a border for the white body.
