Vintage Mid Century modern Scandinavian Kilim rug, Country of Origin: Sweden, Circa date: 1950’s — This small Scandinavian rug with a large picture of a lion is designed with a variety of bold, geometric shapes. The lion is brought to life with colors in soft beige, tawny brown, and lush black. The simple yet striking arrangement of squares, triangles, and sharp lines brings to life the intense facial features of the lion. Even within this simplistic design there is wonderful attention to detail and color arrangement. The feet of the lion are woven in a slightly different pattern to provide an excellent contrast. The rectangle representing the mane captures the eye with a black and white color combination. This vintage area rug represents a wonderful combination of detail and simplicity while still bringing forth the strength and beauty of the lion.
