Fun Geometric Antique Caucasian Kazak Rug, Country Of Origin / Rug Type: Antique Caucasian Rugs, Circa Date: Late 19th century – antique tribal Caucasian carpets are as bright and vibrant as the people who created them. The carpets are colorful and steeped in tribal tradition, which is a sincere expression of the rich culture from which they arose. This brilliant piece was created around 1900, shortly after the area first became accessible to the European market by the construction of a railway to the area.

Before the 1870s, when the Trans-Caucasus railway gave the world access to this area of the world, these beautiful carpets were only known to the locals who created them. The designs and colors are based on traditions that go back so far that no one even knows how old they are. The only thing that we do know is that the pieces that come from this area are simply breathtaking.

Antique Caucasian Kazak carpets often have short piles, which makes the designs stand out crisp and clear. They use different field colors of blue, red and ivory. This one also uses tan. The simplicity of the colors used and the geometric designs make these carpets have a beautiful minimalist appeal. This carpet is an excellent example of a traditional Kazak design that uses traditional symbols to tell the story of a people whose way of life is quickly disappearing.

The striking colors of the rug are the feature that stands out the most and will draw the greatest attention in the room. Each of the designs of the carpet has a special meaning. One of the unique features of this particular carpet is the variety of symbols and motifs that are used.

These symbols are passed down from generation to generation through songs, rhymes, and memorization. This carpet shows that it was created by someone with quite an extensive repertoire of symbols at their disposal. Also, the symbols are carried out with a precision that points to a practiced hand.

This is a smaller antique rug that would make the perfect accent piece. Even though it is a smaller piece, it is impressive in the indications of the skill of the weaver and the extensive design repertoire of the creator. It is a well-crafted rug and an excellent example of Kazak weaving. It will make a beautiful addition to any room.
