Rich and Colorful Tribal Antique Afghan Rug, Country Of Origin: Afghanistan, Circa Date: 1910’s – A pattern of diamonds with stair-step edges repeats across the body of this antique Afghan rug, starkly vibrant in red, orange and blue, accented with white, light green and pale yellow. The riot of colors is perfectly organized into a striped background behind the diamond figures. Nestled over-top, each is an arrangement of colorful triangles, echoing the regular assembly of shapes staggered across the piece. The vivid tribal design is contained within a trio of borders, two slim red bands with orange and blue X shapes flanking one wider strip of dark blue showcasing geometric decorations of squares surrounded by smaller squares. The vibrant hues match the tones making up the main pattern of this tribal antique area rug from Afghanistan.
