A cloud border derived from Chinese carpets frames the entire composition, with minor borders of hooked rosettes and meandering fretwork transitioning back to the field. But what makes the entire design work so well is the uniform palette of soft sandy tan with linear accents of black and red for graphic yet subtle detail.
