The main border is a classic Persian rug design, reduced in scale and set against a crimson ground to complement the field design of this beautiful small scatter size antique rug. Additional minor borders of stylized vine scrolls and blossom garlands on dark brown and ivory serve to delineate the main border as a frame more strongly against the field.
