Vintage Persian Tribal Gashgai Rug, Country Of Origin: Persia, Circa Date: 1920’s – Here is a beautiful, energetic vintage rug – an antique tribal Persian Qashqai area rug, characterized by a minimalist design and an exciting palette of colors. Boasting a simple, deconstructed format, this rug features a series of horizontal stripes, with one band located closer to the top of the piece, and the other located closer to the bottom. These stripes are characterized by their bright colors as well as the subtle ivory pattern that runs through certain colors. Outside of each of these horizontal figures occurs the primary action of the carpet. Within the space of the field is more red and green, which play off of one another in a fascinating manner, a large swath of green taking up almost the entirety of the field, bordered on each side by a vertical band of red, serrated, appearing to be biting into the green.  An energetic, decidedly modern composition, this traditional antique Persian carpet is a delightful vintage rug.
