A truly distinct work, this vintage Moroccan carpet is characterized by a beautiful ivory field, against which is set some truly wonderful line work and detail work, rendered in beautiful shades of blue, gold, red, and others. Unlike most mid-century vintage Moroccan rugs, which typically feature an ivory field sparsely decorated with dark brown line work, this particular example is a truly vibrant piece, the tribalism and colors of which give it a strong presence. The irregular and eccentric line work, which loosely communicates a latticework structure, imbues the carpet with an abstract quality, which is heightened by the idiosyncratic scattering of the tribal detail work throughout.
