Rare Embossed Souf Kashan Design Antique Persian Kurdish Bidjar Kilim Rug, Country of Origin: Persia, Circa Date: 1900 – This impressively lengthy, antique Persian rug features a banner running down the center. The red-orange figure, floating over a pale blue background, is symmetrical, with matching three-petaled flower shapes jutting from each end. Animals and flowers cluster on each end of the warm-toned banner, which is centered with a smaller, matching shape in black. A variety of flora crafted with reds and oranges fill the dark space. The smallest yet, a banner of white nests within the black shape, decorated with a matching floral theme, rendered in elaborate detail. Around the antique Persian Bidjar rug’s central blue field, a zigzagging, black and white border adds contrast to the antique rug, anchored within a wide red space.
