Beautiful and Rare Antique Tribal Turkish Kula Rug, Country Of Origin: Turkey, Circa Date: 18th Century – At the heart of this 18th century antique Turkish rug rests a vibrant red medallion, its edges detailed with white stitches to form a pointed guard. Within the bright form of this antique Turkish Kula rug, a symmetrical display of floral elements is arranged and detailed in white, yellow, blue and dark red colors. A cluster of similar blossoms surrounds this spiny, ornate figure, dominated by bright red and white over a reddish black background. Golden vines cradle the top and bottom of this central area, hiding colorful fruits in each corner. Vivid and stylized orchid-like blooms repeat around to form the innermost border of this antique rug, leading to a set of blue and cream bands. The widest, honey-toned bar is woven with an angular, tribal vine around crimson and blue flowers.
