Vintage Moroccan Carpet, Origin: Morocco, Circa: Mid-20th Century – Here is a beautifully composed vintage carpet – a vintage Moroccan rug, woven in the mid-twentieth century. Mid-century rugs and carpets from Morocco are highly collectible, and are prized for their unique design qualities and tremendous versatility. Generally speaking, mid-century Moroccan rugs are characterized by a broad ivory field and a simple design, which will generally consist of simple brown or black lines. This particular example is an exciting and refreshing departure from this conventional style, if only subtly so – for rather than boasting a complex series of crisscrossing brown or black lines, this particular Moroccan rug features detail lines rendered in soft, faint shades of red. At some points, these red lines are outlined with dark lines, while at other points it stands alone.  A beautifully composed Moroccan rug with a unique design departure, this mid-century carpet is an intriguing and beautifully woven example.
