Beautiful, rigid lines define the vast majority of the work present throughout this antique Oriental rug, creating natural shapes paths of motion that lead the viewer’s attention through the elegant antique Khotan Rug. Sandy beige and earthy clay stand as the primary colors, outlining clear points of contrast and contact. Several borders surround each other, each unique in their presentation and design, almost as if telling a story in the way they draw the viewer closer and closer to the center of the antique East Turkestan rug. Here, numerous pomegranate shapes are present, their roundness breaking up the rigidity of the vines and stems.
