Antique East Turkestan Rugs — Antique Khotan Oriental Carpet from East Turkestan, circa 1900 – This majestic long antique Khotan rug has a series of delicately worked medallions running down the center of the field with fine scattered floral design sprays to either side and little meander corner pieces on each end. The latter features and the outer edges of the medallions hardly show because of their closely valued tone-on-tone sandy rug coloration. The cloud and vines croll borders make more use of dark outlining to accent their designs and to provide a structuring framework for the whole composition.
