Swedish Kilim Rug, Sweden, Mid 20th Century – This charming vintage Sweden kilim rug designed and signed by Ingegerd Silow, features an inventive allover pattern comprised of many modular and abstract geometric motifs woven in a complementary series of alternating colors. Large lozenges surrounded by a series of tightly spaced small-scale elements and irregular motifs with rectilinear edges create a homogeneous allover pattern that is surrounded by an imagined border created by the stark ecru field. Colorful lozenges rendered in a fresh combination of powder pink, baby blue and mint green are paired with secondary elements woven in various shades of muted brown, amber, ivory and flaxen yellow, which offset the neutral field.
