Antique Persian Khorassan Rug, Origin: Persia, Circa: 1920 – Here is a splendid and impressively composed antique Oriental rug – an antique Khorassan carpet woven in Persia during the second decade of the twentieth century. Extraordinarily soft colors lend this elegant antique Persian carpet an air of subtle sophistication – a quality enhanced by its graceful and masterfully woven composition. A series of comely borders sets that stage for the remainder of the composition: a main border of an alluring blue is decorated with sinuous vine scrolls and charming floral motifs, rendered in the pale shade of soft, clay brown that characterized most of the carpet. Inner and outer borders complement this design. Within the field, a spectacular pattern unfolds, with gently sloping vine scrolls bursting with blossoms and petals throughout. All of this detail work is rendered in the same shade of blue as the primary border, giving the  entire carpet a deep sense of balance and completeness.
