Garden Design Finely Woven Antique Persian Tabriz Rug , Country Of Origin: Persia, Circa Date: Late 19th Century – A garden design that features rosy red hues, mingles with autumnal orange across this antique Persian rug, creating an overall impression of a hazy harvest sunset. Perpendicular bars form a cross through the fine rug’s central area, filling their cream-hued space with pale red ornaments all in a line. The four quarters created in this fashion are matched, left with right, holding nine panels that are set apart by slim decorative borders. The nine panels of this antique Persian Tabriz rug depict scenes with verdant themes, from swaying trees to potted plants and menageries within forests. Several flowering borders surround the design across the middle, narrow bands paired inside and out bearing precisely stitched decorations flanked with stylized fronds. The widest border of this beautiful antique rug is backed with a shadowy hue, and angular white vines wind through and around the darkness.
