Antique Khotan Rug, East Turkestan, Early 20th Century – Woven in East Turkestan, this traditional Khotan rug features a formal all-over pattern woven in a combination of cocoa brown, light blue, oatmeal and dark indigo blue. Reciprocating guard bands featuring a detailed floral pattern complement the extensive blue details used within the field. Formal borders featuring inset floral motifs placed in a rigid square are decorated with extended ram’s horn motifs that form a secondary pattern between each flower.
