Beautiful Cream Color Vintage Moroccan Beni Ourain Rug, Country of Origin / Rug Type: Moroccan Rugs, Circa Date: 3rd Quarter Of The 20th Century – Balanced like a rich espresso laden thickly with cream, the tones of this vintage Moroccan rug add a welcoming warmth to an interior space. The dark brown hue details a diamond latticework, the shapes formed by zigzagging lines that meet and part like netting. Through the middle of this Beni Ourain rug, two pairs of lines avoid their meetings for two jaunts, creating a larger, jagged shape of tilted diamonds. Spaced somewhat apart, down each long side, extra lines follow the peaked shapes like braces, subtly setting off the pattern between them. Across several rows of this vintage rug, small embellishments are sprinkled, which adds a hint of a wave-like illusion. One accenting group is populated only by open teardrop figures, diminutive against the diamond forms. Straight, fletched lines bolster either side of the pattern, giving a final weight and solidity to the piece.
