Antique Besserabian, Romania, Early 20th Century – This charming kilim from Romania features a subdued combination of soapstone grey and Persian blue with detailed, serrated borders decorated with endless-knot protection symbols or goz motifs woven in an assortment of colorful tones. The inner borders and carpet field are decorated with sweeping sprays of branching floral motifs featuring finely-detailed stems along with brilliant red and pink flowers that add an unexpected, contemporary feeling to this traditional piece.
