Following Joshegan traditions, this ornate rug features a central lozenge medallion and inner quatrefoil woven in dark shade of Persian blue that contrasts sharply against the madder-red field and white accents. The field is decorated with precisely-oriented floral tiles and branching flower motifs. The borders and guard bands also incorporate traditional Joshegan designs, such as the interlocking pattern of reciprocating motifs used in the main border as well as the minute turreted details in the outer guard bands.
