A Beautiful Persian Inspired Modern Sultanabad Rug, Country of Origin: Indian, Circa Date: Modern / Newly Made Sultanabad – Modeled after the distinctive rugs created near Sultanabad, this modern Sultanabad rug features an exquisite arabesque with grand palmettes, flourishing saz leaves and filamentous vine scrolls that incorporate curved nodules and branching intersections. The elegant arabesque depicts a stately combination of oxidized Persian blue, creamy ecru, terracotta and celadon green set over a subtly abrashed onyx-colored field. Formal brick-red borders adorned with sophisticated turtle and vine scroll motifs wrap around the richly colored field. The grand main borders are flanked by creamy ecru guard bands decorated with botehs and reciprocating floral motifs that continue the traditional style and stately colors that decorate this modern Sultanabad rug.
